The iPad is stylish, compact and user friendly. Whether you want to read your emails or a newspaper, watch YouTube or a home video, look at photos or create images, the iPad delivers high resolution, crisp images via its 9.7 inch LED backlit display. There are 15,000 iPad compatible apps available from the app store, with loads more on the way. Gaming is fluid and intuitive. Apps that you've already bought are available quickly and easily via your iTunes online account, so you don't end up paying anymore than you have to.

iPad technology and design

- LED backlit IPS display - The 178 degree viewing angle means that you can hold the iPad just about anyway you can think of, and still get a great picture. It also means that if you're feeling sociable, you can watch a movie with someone else, and you'll both actually be able to see it!
- Multi-touch screen - Like your iPhone? Like the way it responds? The you'll love the iPad. The same multi touch technology ensures accuracy and reliability. Finally, a touchscreen interface that does what you want it to, when you want it too, without kicking up a fuss.
- Light and ergonomic - At only 1.5lbs (that's 680g to us Brits - or wherever else has no idea what a lb is) it's really light, less than a quarter of the average laptop. It's also designed to fit in your hand. Nicely curved, like all good things in life should be, the iPad won't make your hand ache, even if it does your wallet.
- Battery life - Up to 10 hours battery life? We'll believe it when we see it, but still, if it's true it'll be cracking. It is the same technology behind the MacBook batteries, so we're holding out more hope than we had with the iPhone 3GS, or 4GS, depending on when you're reading this!
- Wifi wireless connectivity - The iPad utilises the fastest Wifi networks with a few simple and easy clicks, automatically locating and notifying you of available networks for easy of use. Wifi is connected via the intrinsic 802.11n, while other wireless devices, like headphones and keyboards can be connected via the Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR for the ultimate free iPad set up.
- 3G connectivity - Can't get a Wifi network connection? Nevermind, with 3G speeds of up to 7.2Mbps, you don't need to worry about not being able to work whilst travelling in the back of beyond, or find those elusive directions whilst your TomTom is trying is darndest to dump you in a lake.
- iPad performance - It's powerful. Darn powerful. The A4 chip developed by those clever little minions at Apple is more than capable of doing anything you could (legally!) want a free iPad to do, without breaking a sweat. It also means that you really can get that 10 hour battery life that everyone is praying is achievable.
- Connectivity - Yes, we know that we're banging on about the connectivity, but the dock on the inferior surface, (and we mean the bottom, not anything else you smartarses) means that you can use any of the Apple accessories quickly and easily, with minimum drama.
- Audio - Sick of tinny, weak speakers? You don't get this with a free iPad. Powerful intrinsic speakers make the sound full and rich. Perfect for listening to your favourite iTunes.
